A MESSAGE FROM DR. WADIE

Dear Parents:

I have been taking care of children with surgical needs for over 13 years. Most recently I served as a pediatric surgeon and director of the Adolescent Bariatric Program at WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh, NC. Although academic medicine and research were exciting, I soon found that patient care is where my passion lies and helping patients and their families provides me with the greatest satisfaction.

During these years of clinical experience, I realized that:

• Pediatric Surgeons are much needed but there is not a single private practice in the area. Other practices are governed by rigid hospital policies and insurance contracts with no direct, personalized care for patients.

• There is a high healthcare cost associated with practices within hospitals and several boundaries that limit patient's access to specialized care.

• Most children who need surgery can be managed in a very efficient and affordable way with great results at a specialized center outside the hospital setting.

Therefore I decided to start a private practice to provide exceptional, affordable and convenient care to children with surgical needs in the area. My goal is to be a dedicated adviser for you and your loved ones – so you can make the best decision regarding their condition.
